NASHVILLE, Tenn., February 15, 2007 – It was a day to honor the best of the best. Ozburn-Hessey Logistics was one of more than 50 companies recognized February 15 at United Way of Metropolitan Nashville’s annual meeting and campaign celebration.
Ozburn-Hessey Logistics received the Advocate Award for their 2006 campaign efforts. The Advocate Award recognizes all-around United Way support in organizations with less than 500 employees and recognizes outstanding campaign organization and success, volunteer commitment, communications efforts and employee involvement. OH Logistics has less than 500 employees in the Metropolitan Nashville service area.
In thanking the award companies, Mike Edwards, 2006 Campaign Chair and President of First Tennessee Bank, said, “We honor your enthusiasm and commitment. Your generosity and willingness to come together in a united way truly does make a difference and we are grateful for your support.”
Funds raised through its annual campaign, as well as grants and other revenue resources, enable United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to invest in 169 health and human service programs within 74 agencies across the community. Volunteers monitor these programs quarterly to ensure they are achieving goals and measurable results. The generosity of individual donors and companies also allows United Way to address deep-seated, complex problems that require long-term solutions.
The award program is held annually to thank companies for their fundraising efforts and bestow awards on the most outstanding campaigns in a variety of categories.
