BRENTWOOD, Tennessee-Saxco-Demptos has named Ozburn-Hessey Logistics
(OH Logistics) sole provider of warehouse and value-added distribution services. Saxco-Demptos is a highly regarded source of specialty packaging items for the wine and spirits industries, food and beverage companies and microbreweries.
“We are pleased to entrust complex and critical aspects of our supply chain to a company that has the expertise and flexibility we need,” says Rich Bouwer, General Manager, Saxco-Demptos. OH Logistics handles all warehousing for Saxco-Demptos from the 3PL’s campus in Fairfield, California. In addition, OH Logistics performs kitting of bottles and packaging for shipments to select California wineries.
Having previously handled its logistics services internally, Saxco-Demptos recognized that it could achieve higher service levels and greater efficiency though a 3PL. Saxco-Demptos conducted an in-depth bid process, ultimately selecting OH Logistics. “We have agreed on common measures of operational success and we are confident that we will reach all of the targeted improvements,” says Bouwer. “For example, we see tight adherence to health and cleanliness standards at the OH Logistics facility, and they are performing well on other scorecard metrics.”
Some 180,000 square feet of space is utilized by Saxco-Demptos on average, but as seasonal fluctuations generate more or less demand, OH Logistics can expand and contract space in its multi-client campus.
